When the largest tent circus came to town the Stewart family had to go. We were so excited and even headed down in the morning to watch them put up the giant tent and unload the animals. Even in the pouring ran, the kids and I sat in our car and watched eating our snacks like it was a movie. It was really interesting to see the elephants, and a baby, come bounding around and to see the circus ponies. That afternoon, Dad got off work early and we headed down to Lake Bryan where the circus was at. It was quite an experience, they had games to play outside of the circus and some exotic animals to see. Caroline kept asking me if we would see a hippo, and I would laugh and brush off the comment of such an amaetur circus goer-whoever heard of a hippo at the circus....well this circus had a hippo and I was proven wrong. We took our seats, surprisingly close to the three rings, really about 15 feet from one ring. Caroline and Romney III did extra jobs to buy cotton candy and we watched many acts from all over the world. Caroline even got to ride a pony. It was quite the experience, not too fancy, but we still got nervous by the high wire acts. The big thrill came when the elephants ran in with the announcement "parents hold on to your children" a few sceonds before...I think they really meant to hold on to your children since we were all so close and an elephant could easily tromp on a child. Enjoy the pictures, picture taking was limited by the circus.
